Termites We conduct thorough termite inspections and offer a variety of eradication options, along with various baiting and barrier systems. we know how important it is to be thorough. our team of experienced inspectors have an in-depth knowledge about the habits of termites, the manner in which they work, the places they are likely to be found and the signs that indicate their presence. our inspectors can not only tell you if there is an infestation, they can let you know if there are conditions conducive to infestation on your property. where possible, our visual inspections will include all timber structures, fences, trees and stumps within the property, taking in an area of up to 50 metres from the main building. In addition to being able to find the problem precisely, its data can be accurately captured on-site for reporting and tracking purposes.
cockroaches cockroaches are not only unsightly but they carry disease, a large number of bacteria, worms and viruses that can be dangerous to people and pets. their droppings can cause allergies and contaminate food. They can deliver the bacteria that causes food poisoning and they will eat nearly anything at all from paper to soap and even their own droppings.
some facts about cockroaches: if you see one or two cockroaches in your home or business on a regular basis then it is likely that you do have a real problem one cockroach egg sack brought into your premises inadvertently can produce over a million cockroaches in just one year some people think that being very clean will stop them having cockroaches but this is unfortunately untrue, however, not leaving food lying around on benches and thorough cleaning along with regular pest treatments will all help in the fight against cockroaches.
Bed Bugs The bed bug is of widespread distribution around the world. historically, they are associated with the sleeping quarters of hotels, taverns, inns, hostels and other dormitory style facilities. in domestic residences, an infestation is usually located mainly in the bedrooms. bed bugs are blood suckers at all stages of their development so a substantial infestation can lead to much biting and annoyance. Adults are usually 4-5mm long, rusty red/brown coloured, wingless and oval shaped. The life cycle of bedbugs can be as short as 45 days, but may be as long as a year or more and they can survive for several months without a blood meal. Because bed bugs readily hide in small crevices, they may accompany (as stowaways) luggage, furniture, clothing, pillows, boxes, and other such objects when these are moved between apartments, homes and hotels. used furniture, particularly bed frames and mattresses, are of greatest risk of harboring bed bugs and their eggs. Bed bugs became relatively scarce during the latter part of the 20th century, but their populations have resurged in recent years, particularly throughout parts of Papua New Guinea, they are most abundant in rooms where people sleep, and they generally hide nearest the bed or other furniture used for sleeping. bed bugs are most active in the middle of the night, but when hungry, they will venture out during the day to seek a host. The control of bed bugs is troublesome and involves improvement of hygiene and chemical treatment. professional treatment follows a strict bed bug code of practice and therefore, it is important to have a treatment carried out by our professional Complete Pest Control technicians.
Mosquitoes Mosquitoes are one of the most dangerous health risks to humans the world over. Papua New Guinea with its tropical climate is prone to high numbers of mosquitoes. Management can be difficult and requires a multi level treatment regime. treatment and the control of mosquitoes is very effective in enclosed areas such as under high set homes or building interiors. Outdoor treatments are effective in reducing breeding grounds and surface residual spray of walls, under decks, outdoor furniture and favourite resting places where they land. Outdoor treatments have a limited life span of approximately 6 weeks. interior and enclosed area treatments will last approximately 6 months. The problem with outdoors is that mosquitoes can blow in from neighbouring yards on the wind. regular treatments for mosquitoes can be effective in keeping numbers down. The danger of not managing mosquitoes is they bite other animals such as rats and mice along with humans potentially transferring diseases such as malaria, typhus, dengue fever and encephalitis.
Rats & Mice it is important to correctly identify the species so effective control programmes can be designed to suit the behaviour patterns of that species. Access to food and shelter, poor hygiene, incorrect placement of traps and baits and choice of inappropriate active and formulation of baits will result in a slower or even ineffective control. Control inspection To determine the species, the extent and severity of the problem, the location of harbourages and areas of activity and appropriate control strategies. Hygiene mow the lawn, eliminate clutter, debris, rubbish and access to pet food (metal containers and take in at night). limiting food, water and shelter makes it harder for the rodent to survive and increases the effectiveness of control strategies. Proofing keep them out! this may be simple or not practical - a mouse can get through a hole the size of the tip of your little finger, a rat requires the size of the tip of your thumb. the main areas of entry are doors, overhanging branches, vents and penetrations for plumbing and electricals. Trapping there are a variety of traps including curiosity traps, sticky boards and snap traps. the placement of these devices is critical to their success. Baiting This is the most common method used by pest managers and by the general public - the differences are that PNG Pest Control managers know which active ingredients and formulations are most suitable for the situation at hand and they will often integrate other actions listed above, depending on what they find in the inspection.
